Born and raised in Australia, Mathew (with one T) knew from an early age that he wanted to be a performer. Growing up in a family of musicians, music was in his veins, and by 8 years of age, he was already writing his own songs and performing at school and in church.

Mathew first came into the public eye in 2003 as a finalist on the first season of Australian Idol, which to this day is still the most watched TV show in Australian TV History. The ‘Idol’ phenomenon swept the nation by storm and it wasn’t long before Mathew’s face was on the cover of magazines in every household across the country.

Through the Idol experience, Mathew has a 2X Platinum album and a Gold Single to his name, and following the hugely successful national tour, Mathew was offered a recording contract from Sony/BMG with the then hit boy band, ‘Mercury 4’. Mathew opted to continue down the path for a solo career instead.

Mathew’s passion for songwriting and constant desire to grow and learn as an artist led him back to school, and he now holds a Bachelors degree in Music from the prestigious Queensland Conservatorium of Music in Australia. Whilst studying, one of Mathew’s original songs, ‘Don’t leave this way’ was entered into a radio station competition by a family member, and quickly became the most requested song in the stations history, staying in the Top 10 for 6 weeks.

Knowing he was on the right path, Mathew set his sights on the international market and in the years following, toured and performed across the globe, touching audiences with his smooth blend of creamy vocals and timeless charm. In Japan, Dubai, London and the USA, Mathew has starred in multiple award winning - million dollar productions, performed to crowds of over 30,000 people a night, has written and composed music for children’s theatre and was even hired by Mattel to be the official ‘Ken’ of ‘Barbie and Ken’.

In 2011, Mathew's dream of living and performing in the USA became a reality. Under special consideration from the Australian/US government, Mathew entered the US as an ‘Alien of Extraordinary Ability’ and began working on his debut EP. Recorded at Threshold Studios in New York, New York, Mathew’s EP, ‘Undefined’ showcases not only his incredible vocals, but also his versatility as a songwriter.   Whilst working on the EP, Harvey Levin from TMZ, a worldwide celebrity news TV show, website and touring company also recognized Mathew’s talent, and he became a regular cast member on ‘TMZ on TV’ a show viewed by millions across the globe. He was also a TMZ Guide on the TMZ New York City Tour, entertaining hundreds on a weekly basis.

After 4 years in New York, Mathew moved to Japan and opened 'The Suite', an award winning live entertainment cabaret lounge bar based in Osaka. He is currently the resident singer and on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights, you'll find him there crooning the classics with a live Jazz Trio.
